What bothers you and why?

I am most bothered by people who are intolerant of those who are different from them. This character trait seems to have been the cause of most conflict both in the past and nowadays.
Sunnis hating Shias, Whites hating Blacks, Christians hating Jews, Russians hating Ukrainians, Conservatives hating Liberals. Then the hated groups responding in kind, sending intolerance back the other way.
I am a Unitarian by faith and our first principal is “Every person has worth and dignity.” This is what I believe and I try hard to be tolerant of all people, whatever their faith, skin color, ethnicity, economic background, nationality, sexual orientation or political beliefs. I wish everyone else would do the same.
This would be a first big step towards peace in the world. Just because someone is different than you, this doesn’t make them your enemy.
Gots to love the Other. Hubby.

It is sad that many folks can’t tolerate differences in others. (even within their own family)

Yes, it is. School should have classes to teach tolerance, I think.

True, but it should start at home when they are babies.

Thanks Sally. It’s so disheartening that there is so much hate and discrimination in the world. We are one human family!
Sounds like you had a very interesting upbringing. I’d love to know more about it sometime. xx

I agree Nancy. I was privileged to live around the world as a child in very different cultures from Sri Lanka to South Africa where as a ten year old I could not understand why I was banned from having friends just because of their colour. There are now as many areas of discrimination as there are sub genres of the books we write and read…we seem to have forgotten we are all humans under the skin and whatever our religion or orientation.. xx
