Ban Assault Weapons

If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

I would ban the sale and possession of assault weapons by civilians in the United States to help reduce the number of mass shootings there. No other country in the world has as many mass shootings as the US. There were 67 mass shootings in the first 6 weeks of 2023 in the US. Sixty seven! This is insane.

This slaughter of innocents have taken place in elementary schools, high schools, colleges, malls, churches, synagogues, grocery stores, movie theaters, virtually anyplace people want to go. Time to stop the madness.

Here are photos of the three beautiful young people cut down on the Michigan State University campus earlier this week by a deeply troubled soul with a gun. Look closely and imagine if this were your child! You would be so heartbroken, so devastated, so inconsolable. Your child died in the prime of their life for no reason!

The inaction of Republican politicians in Washington DC to do anything to restrict access to these weapons is to blame for this ongoing American atrocity. It’s way past time for action. Enough of your meaningless expressions of keeping their families in your “thoughts and prayers.” May you spineless Senators and Congress people rot in hell.

    1. Oh Lyssy, I am so sad about this too. The US is turning into a country I no longer recognize. There was another mass shooting yesterday. This time it was in El Paso, Texas. God help the American people. It’s just one atrocity after another.
